Cereal pancakes can be the perfect breakfast for a weaning baby. They are rich in minerals and fiber, which can keep your little one full and happy for an extended period; plus, added fruits are a great source of vitamins!
Pancakes are a great option if you want to upgrade your baby's regular porridge and help your baby get used to different textures and finger foods. Did you know allowing your little one to feed themselves also helps improves hand-eye coordination? That's right! With baby pancakes, you can nourish your child while supporting their fine motor skills.
I think we're all too familiar with the fact that sometimes, toddlers get tired of certain foods seemingly out of the blue, leading to unused boxes of baby food in the pantry. Well, rather than letting boxes of baby cereal collect dust in your cupboard or go to waste, we have a solution for you.
Here's an easy recipe for healthy baby cereal pancakes that are also freezer-friendly! That means you can prepare them in bulk and pull out as many frozen ones as you need in the morning. These pancakes are made to turn out a little denser than regular ones, which is an excellent exercise for your baby's new teeth!
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup Holle Organic Rice
1 cup Holle Organic Oats
1 cup formula or milk, depending upon age
1/2 cup mashed fruit of choice
1 tbsp melted butter
1 egg
1/2 cup apple juice or water
Dash of cinnamon or vanilla (optional)
* To help your child get used to different flavors you can experiment with the spices.
