    Pumpkin Spice Muffins For Toddlers

These mini muffins are a great way to introduce your baby to new foods. With warming cinnamon and delicious pumpkin puree that make these muffins perfect for the colder season. And let’s be honest, October is month of the pumpkin. ;-)

Pumpkins have a range of health benefits. They are rich in important vitamins like vitamin A which is responsible for cell growth and essential in not only a baby’s diet. Pumpkin also contains antioxidants which can help boost the immune system and are associated with lowering the risk of certain cancers. Overall, the pumpkin promotes a healthy heart and skin, which makes it perfect for a toddler’s diet.

Cinnamon is a great spice especially during colder months: In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this popular spice is often used when you feel cold, as it can supposedly drive away the "inner cold". Cinnamon is extracted from the bark of the cinnamon tree and has an excellent taste, for example, in warm oatmeal porridges.

The muffins are filled with fiber which can help to keep your baby's tummy full and happy, making it the perfect food at the start of the day or as a healthy power snack. Prepared with your favorite Holle Cereals makes these muffins even more nutrient-appropriate for your little one.

    Here’s What You’ll Need:

    • 1-2 cups of your Holle Cereals choice:
    • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
    • 1 ripe banana
    • 1 egg
    • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • pinch of nutmeg
    • pinch of allspice
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • pinch of salt
    • grated apples (optional)

    Here's How to Make Them:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F
    2. In a blender, add your Holle Cereals, pumpkin puree, banana, egg, syrup, and spices. Blend until everything is mixed well.
    3. Add baking powder, baking soda and salt and blend on low until mixed well.
    4. Spoon the batter out of the blender and fill your muffin tray. Remember: do not fill all to the top. If you have use a muffin tray for smaller muffins it will be easier for your kid to hold them.
    5. Optional: add a little grated apple on top of the muffins
    6. Put the tray in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
    7. Let cool and enjoy!

These muffins can stay good for up to a week and can even be stored in the freezer! Take them out and defrost for 30 minutes. We recommend toasting them twice (top and bottom) to have that fresh out-of-the-oven taste.
